Why Choose Pure Insulation for Home Insulation
“My A/C doesn’t run all the time”
“The end result was a much more comfortable home in the upper level of my 2-story and my A/C doesn’t run all the time as it used to. Really outstanding work.”
Even with the latest and greatest in climate control systems, many people struggle to keep their homes at a comfortable temperature. Sometimes this problem persists throughout the whole house, in other cases, there are areas in a home that are much harder to heat or cool.
Why? Because without proper insulation, HVAC systems have to work harder to keep the temperature inside your home from being affected by the temperature outdoors. This can impact the time it takes for the temperature to regulate, and all that extra effort can really add up on your energy bill!
Every home is different, and at Pure Insulation, we have over 40 years of experience finding the right insulation solution for homes of all shapes and sizes.
Contact us today to schedule an appointment with one of our climate detectives: These super-sleuths will talk with you about your specific concerns, investigate the problem using tools like thermal imaging and manometers, and work with you to make a plan to get your home feeling consistent and comfortable throughout, and keep your energy bills from skyrocketing

Insulation Makes the Home More Comfortable
Even though insulation is often invisible, it’s easy to know when you’re somewhere in need of insulation upgrades. How? A poorly insulated home will need to work harder to keep up with the thermostat settings. You’ll notice that while you’re comfortable in some areas of the house, there are other areas where you can’t shake the chill in winter or escape the oven-like heat of summer.
This is especially true for two-story houses with one thermostat. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense: Rooms on different levels have different exposure to sunlight, and the top story is closer to the roof, which is a home’s first line of defense against the elements. At Pure Insulation we know there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to insulation. Instead, we look at the layout of your home and test to see where the outside temperature has the biggest impact on the inside temperature.
From there, we’ll create a custom solution for you. Our insulation services include everything from improving the ventilation in your attic to avoid the stack effect — a common problem in St. Louis homes — to air sealing, to safely removing and replacing damaged insulation.
With the right combination of solutions, you’ll enjoy a more comfortable home, and never worry about whether some rooms are colder than others.
Home Insulation Saves on Energy Bills
“We have immediately seen the benefit”
“Fantastic experience with Paul, Mindy and their team when they helped us insulate the attic spaces surrounding and above our 1.5 story house. We’ve immediately seen the benefit from the insulation through our energy consumption, reducing the run-time of our unit by ~4 hours a day on like-weather days. This team will take care of your exact needs by tailoring their solutions to your situation and they don’t cut any corners in ensuring you’re getting the value deserved!”

Bad home insulation can be very uncomfortable, both physically, and for your wallet! The harder your HVAC systems must work to regulate the temperature, the more energy it consumes. Heating or cooling your home even a few degrees can be expensive— and bad for the environment— when your system is fighting the outside elements without the support from the right insulation.
The good news is that with a little help from our experts, you can get the right insulation for your home so that your HVAC system isn’t struggling so hard to fight against constant intrusion or extrusion from leaky windows, or the impact of the stack effect.
Using precise temperature detection methods like thermal imaging and manometers, we’ll provide you with a list of recommendations that will make your home less vulnerable to the outside weather. Your newly reinforced home will put less strain on your HVAC, which will not only extend the life of the system itself, but save you money every month on your energy bills!
Maintenance Costs Less with Home Insulation
When you buy equipment to regulate your home’s temperature, you want it to work as well as possible for as long as possible. Whether it’s an air conditioner window unit, a space heater, or a whole home centralized HVAC system, you’re investing money in this equipment to keep you safe and comfortable in your home.
No matter how good the equipment is, it will have to fight harder to keep your home temperature regulated if you don’t have proper insulation. All that hard work can create unexpected costs that add up quickly. The need for regular maintenance and unexpected repairs or replacement parts can be really expensive, especially over time!
Moreover, since good insulation keeps your home’s temperature more consistent for longer periods of time, it reduces temperature fluctuations that can create condensation. This means less moisture is created, an important safeguard against water damage and mold.
Home Insulation Improves Indoor Air Quality
Good air quality might be something you think about when it comes to home insulation, but it should be! Why? For several reasons. The same inconsistent perimeter insulation that may be letting air through is also letting in dust, pollen, and other sources of air pollution.
Insulating your home against these intrusions can improve your air quality, which is especially important for anyone who suffers from allergies.
Moreover, the correct insulation and ventilation throughout your home can prevent moisture from accumulating. This is very important for many reasons, as pooling water can not only compromise your home’s structural integrity but also provide a welcoming environment for mold to grow.
Mold is definitely something you want to avoid! An unpleasant smell often accompanies it, and once it’s inside a home, it can be easily spread anywhere there’s sufficient moisture. The presence of mold in a home can lead to everything from itchy eyes to wheezing and or coughing.
If you want a clean-smelling home with good air quality, talk to a Pure Insulation specialist about our strategies for keeping outside pollutants from invading your home, and for ensuring your home is as inhospitable to mold as it is comfortable for people and pets. You and your loved ones deserve the comfort and safety of a home with good air quality!
Home Insulation Controls Moisture
Different areas (also called zones) of your house have different needs when it comes to insulation. One of the most common zones we look at and test is the attic. An improperly insulated attic can negatively affect the comfort of the whole home. We check to make sure that the attic is properly ventilated to prevent moisture from accumulating and, equally important, that it’s sealed in the right places, against weather intrusions.
While attic insulation is important in preventing dangerous moisture buildup, it’s not the only zone we think about! Depending on your home’s siding, and how the doors and windows are installed, exterior rooms may need extra air sealing to keep out damp, humid air.
Of course another major source of water is indoor condensation, which can occur when there’s enough of a temperature differential between different zones of the house. Talk to one of our insulation experts today to find out the best way for you to keep condensation from damaging your home.
Types of Insulation Available
At Pure Insulation, we insist that our team of insulation experts is familiar with a range of insulation solution types. Every home is different, and there’s no “one size fits all” insulation. Accordingly, we offer a range of insulation types to accommodate a range of different needs:
Fiberglass Batt: This insulation is great for floors, ceilings, and areas without structural obstructions.
Fiberglass Blown: When you want to increase the amount of insulation in a specific area or need to insulate hard-to-reach or oddly shaped spaces, blown fiberglass is a good solution. It also works well in unfinished attics and basements.
Cellulose Insulation: Cellulose insulation has many strengths: it performs well when it comes to fire resistance, is very effective at temperature regulation and reducing energy consumption, and high-density cellulose is better than fiberglass for noise reduction.
Rigid Foam Board: This type of insulation is very effective in unfinished spaces. Although it is relatively thin, it is an effective insulation type. It can be used to reduce the risk of thermal short circuits, which is a nice safety feature.
Spray Foam: When you need to add an extra layer of insulation, or have to navigate an area with a lot of obstructions, spray foam is often a good solution, either by itself or in combination with other products.
Radiant Barriers: (Solar Guard) A radiant barrier is very effective against radiant gain (reduces 90%) and can be used by itself or in conjunction with other types of insulation. This product is especially useful in homes that have living space surrounded by attic space. We call these homes“(House in the oven)” and can reduce run time on HVAC equipment as much as 30 %.
TAP Insulation Helps Keep Out Pests
Have you heard of TAP Insulation? It’s an innovative new product that Pure Insulation proudly offers to our clients. It is approved as a pesticide but uses only a nonharmful mineral: borate.
The difference between TAP and other insulations is right there in the name: TAP stands for thermal, acoustical, and pest control. This type of insulation can protect against three types of unwanted home invaders — hot or cold outdoor air that can impact your home’s comfort, noise pollution, and bugs!
TAP Insulation is made out of recycled newspapers treated with a special BORATE solution. It is an EPA-registered product and Energy Star ® partner. TAP Insulation is also UL classified (that means it’s been determined to meet the Underwriters Laboratories’ safety standards). In other words— if your Pure Insulation expert recommends TAP Insulation for your home, you can rest assured it’s both safe and effective.
If you have concerns about pest control, TAP Insulation might be just the thing you’ve been looking for. Contact us today to learn more.

“the A/C is seldom running”
“Today is a 95 degree day and before the insulation upgrade the Air Conditioner could not keep the inside temperature at a constant 72 degrees and often rose to 75 or higher and the Air Conditioner ran all day long. Today it’s 92 degrees outside and the Air Conditioner is seldom running to keep the inside temperature at 72 degrees.”
